The Crescent Pearl is a beautiful home in a remarkable setting – exclusive homes nestled among old growth pines overlooking beaches preserved in their natural state. One of six homes in a gated community, with a private swimming pool, the Crescent Pearl is literally a gem, the last custom home built by renown Cape San Blas contractor, Charles House. And the Crescent Pearl is truly a masterpiece – high ceilings, walls of glass, French doors, and transom windows afford remarkable views of the Gulf of Mexico from a high vantage point. The third story great room, comprising the living room, dining room, and kitchen, stands nearly 50 feet above sea level, allowing views of the gulf from virtually anywhere in the room. The wraparound screen porch is the perfect spot for casual conversation, dining, or relaxing as you take in all of Florida’s natural sights, smells, and sounds
Wonderfully built and appointed, comfortably decorated, the Crescent Pearl offers a pleasant, tranquil environment for its occupants. Natural grass rugs, natural fiber dhurrie and kilim rugs lay atop travertine stone floors with custom inlays throughout the home. Custom cherry cabinetry from Oregon, solid custom doors with antique glass knobs salvaged from a New Orleans estate, and travertine floors extending throughout the home and porches speak to the quality of the home’s construction. No compromises were made, no detail forgotten.
The master suite is near flawless. Underneath the great room on the second floor, it features the same views, French doors, transom windows, and wrap around porches. Tastefully appointed featuring a large oversized bed, rattan chairs and natural fiber textiles for all seat cushions, bedding, window treatments, and rugs. A spa quality master bath lies behind a pocket door, featuring a two-person glass and natural travetine and stone shower, over-sized jacuzzi tub, water closet, and double vanity, offering a wonderful way to start, or end any day.
Accommodating nine, the Crescent Pearl has a second bedroom suite on the third floor with a queen bed, en suite bath, and its own private porch facing St Joseph’s Bay, and a second floor bunk room, with two bunk beds accommodating five persons, its own private bath, and a private porch also facing the bay.
The kitchen was recently updated with new, stainless steel, appliances, freshwater filtration unit, and fully appointed with Lennox stainless flatware, and Logan porcelain dinnerware. Cooks will appreciate the fully stocked kitchen, adequate for all your cooking needs, though the area’s restaurants and fresh seafood are the overwhelming choice of most visitors and residents.
Speaking of restaurants, the Crescent Pearl is surrounded by wonderful restaurants and food. The fishing and seafood industries still dominate the area, and the oysters are world renown for their purity and taste. Shrimp, oysters, scallops, crabs, and fish are fresh caught daily, and exquisitely prepared. Though the food is fine, casual is the tone. Not only is the dress relaxed, but so are the purveyors, decor, and patrons. The ambience and environment are reminiscent of the Florida Keys – never a hurry, enjoy the moment, live life through a child’s eyes. The region encompassing Cape San Blas, Indian Pass, Port St Joe, and Apalachicola is known as the “Forgotten Coast” and harkens back to a half-century ago, back before unrestricted development to the west. You won’t find any high rise condos here, and there are very few, if any, condos or town homes on the Cape. Carefully managed development has helped Cape San Blas retain the environment as close to natural as possible. It remains a sanctuary for turtles, birds, and wildlife. Please come visit, it would be our pleasure to share with you the Crescent Pearl.
