GULF COUNTY, FL LAUNCHES #GCFLNOFILTER SELFIE PROMOTION

One of Your Readers/Viewers/Listeners Could Win a Trip

And what’s better than feeling good? Doing good. For every entry, Gulf County will donate $1 to Outdoor Nation, a non-profit dedicated to reconnecting millennials to the outdoors

PORT ST. JOE, Fla. (March 18, 2014) – At the end of 2103, “selfie” was officially declared the word of the year. Then, Dove took hold of the idea in its purest form. And then, The Today Show debuted its #LoveYourSelfie campaign. A seemingly egotistical idea has evolved into one that asks you to embrace who you are – the real you.

And that’s exactly how Gulf County, Florida makes you feel. REAL. GCFL loves you for who you are and what you love.

In GCFL, we believe you never look more beautiful than when you get outside and do what you love to do. The sweatier, the better! We salute everyone who goes out to play, and want to celebrate you in GCFL. Because nothing is more beautiful than living life to the fullest. Being healthy; having fun.

Starting today, Tuesday, March 18th, your readers, viewers and/or listeners can hop on Instagram and post a picture playing outside, doing what they love. Tag it #GCFLnofilter, and they’ll automatically be entered to win a free trip to Gulf County this spring.

Check out all of the details here. Come Play!

And what’s better than feeling good? Doing good. For every entry GCFL receives, we will donate $1 to Outdoor Nation – up to a final donation of $5,000. Outdoor Nation believes in reconnecting the millennial generation to the outdoors. Our health, the health of our communities, and the health of our planet depend on it.

Need some local flavor to round out the news? Meet Jennifer Jenkins and Captain Charlene.

Jennifer, executive director for Gulf County’s Tourist Development Council, will share all the details of the promotion as well as a preview of what you can expect from a trip to Gulf County. As one big outdoor playground, Jennifer will share stories of snorkeling, hiking and biking. Ever been kayak fishing? She’ll tell your readers/viewers/listeners just how to get “eye to eye” with the local wildlife.

Jennifer will be joined by Captain Charlene, a U.S. Coast Guard captain turned local charter captain and guide, with her masters in marine biology. Not only does she know the best spots and what’s biting at the moment, she will tell you her favorite stories from eco-tours through the St. Joseph Bay aquatic preserve.

Jennifer and Captain Charlene are both available for telephone interviews starting today, Tuesday, March 18, 2014 through the duration of the promotion (Thursday, April 17).
