Intracoastal Waterway & Lake Wimico

Since all of the waterways are linked in Gulf County, there is always an easy day trip awaiting to happen.  Take time to explore our waterways.  There is nothing better than exploring St. Joseph Bay in the morning and then motoring down the intracoastal for lunch.  Many of our charter captains will happily take you on an eco tour where you may discover three or four waterways you have never seen.

Avid fisherman?  The fresh water systems in Gulf County are protected from weather and generally calm.  Take a trip up the Gulf County Canal and onto the “road less traveled”. Bass and fly fishing await as you meander through the many coves and creeks or head to Lake Wimico. Try your hand at fishing or cruise past old bridges and charming houseboats or spend the day sailing, exploring, birdwatching and relaxing. There are so many bayous, creeks and rivers, you can spend hours exploring before you find your perfect spot.  It’s a whole new world so be sure to explore our waterways.

Country Music Singer-Songwriter, Trent Tomlinson, co-writer of Brett Young’s In Case You Didn’t Know, shares how Gulf County inspires him while exploring some of the waterways it has to offer.  Watch it here!
