In this short mini workshop, Cyndi Lanier will share several methods she uses to dye Japanese paper in order to create the watery backgrounds she uses for her artworks. Students will work on a small scale with sheets of Japanese paper around 16 x 20. Several methods will be taught for creating different effects and the students can explore with different colors and methods to create organic abstract creations that can stand on their own or be used in conjunction with other nature prints. There will be demos of  various dyeing methods and we'll explore dyeing papers

** For students that are interested in taking their work one step further, Cyndi is offering another workshop where you can mount your prints to cradled wood panels and finish them to create completed, sealed, wall hangable artwork.
