It was located on the Apalachicola River when Florida was Spanish. The American Navy had given up taking such a strong fort when a "one in a million" shot set off a chain reaction that blew up the ammunition in 1816.This talk does include first-hand descriptions of what was the deadliest cannon shot in American history.
