Corinne Costin Gibson Memorial Public Library presents its 2022 Tuesdays at Two Guest Speaker Series with: Florida in the Civil War: The Vermont Volunteers, the Maine Cavalry, U.S. Colored Troops, and The Battle of Marianna with Dale Cox.

The Battle of Marianna was a small but significant engagement in the Florida Panhandle in September 1864. Join us for an account of the brutal fighting between "The Homeguard" - old men and boys too young to enlist - against the Maine Cavalry, the Vermont Volunteers, and the US Colored Troops,  culminating in a fiery battle at St. Luke's Episcopal Church and Cemetery in nearby Jackson County.

NOTE: Space is limited; pre-registration is required.

For more details and for information on how to register, please contact the library at 850-229-8879.
