Breathe the cool air, feel the water, savor the light and sand, and let the magic of Gulf County inspire your creative side.

Admit it... for some things it takes a lot to be inspired. Inspired to do the laundry. Inspired to clean the dishes. Inspired to pay the bills. But when you come to Gulf County, inspiration has an easy way of washing over you, pushing all the other daily things aside and allowing creativity to take over.

Beyond the crystal clear water, the sugar-white sand and the amazing sunsets, there are so many ways to connect with the natural environment and stimulate your senses. From the finely etched cypress stumps in the legendary Dead Lakes to the intricate hives of the Tupelo Honey Bee and even the natural alleys and walkways leading to the water, art comes to life in many ways, shapes and forms.

You don’t have to be a trained artist to be creative. You simply have to embrace what inspires you. Take a mental picture of a picket fence, an Egret’s nest or even a lily pad and turn it into art. Embrace color and texture and simply explore your creativity.

Not sure how to get started or even finish? The Artery Studio in downtown Port St. Joe can help. With classes offered for pottery, painting, drawing and even glass fusion, bring yourself and your inspiration to the studio and create! The most wonderful thing when producing art is that it begins with a glimmer of inspiration and ends up being reflective of true expression. All art is subjective, but if you had fun and learned something new, everyone wins.

So, when planning your next Gulf County vacation, take a moment to add inspiration to your packing list. You will be amazed at what your creative side can do!
