When you finally decide to make Gulf County your year-after-year vacation destination, Megan Burkett, owner of Coastal Joe Vacation Rentals and GCFL Adventure Guide wants you to pick a great neighborhood.
“The Seagrass neighborhood is really great for families. The homes are nice and have kid-friendly touches but more importantly you are instantly in a community for the week. You always see people out on bikes, having fun or sitting on their decks. It’s out on the Cape, too, so you have great views and easy access to the beach and the Bay.
We have several homes in that neighborhood. Sea Haven is popular because the owners take great care of it and it has fun amenities like a ping pong table and a private pool. It’s big, too, so multiple families or big families can be comfortable.
Our bike paths in GCFL are so great. A lot of our homes provide bikes because the bike path is such a huge draw.
Another cool option for several families who vacation together is a home called Cape Bora Bora. It’s in the Seacliffs townhome neighborhood. We don’t have many townhomes in our inventory but this one is neat because the owner took two townhomes and converted it into one. It’s big (6 bedrooms, 7.5 bathrooms) but also has separate living space. There are two whole rooms of complete bunk beds, a game room, and a pool table. It’s on the north end of the Cape near the State Park. It’s a good home for a wedding party or family reunion.
My favorite house? It may be Memories by the Sea. I like it because it’s a smaller home with some great character. It was featured on HGTV and it has some great outdoor living space. The outdoor fire pit is awesome and gulf front. And, it has this cute little nook under the stairs that kids can use as a hideout. It’s really homey.
