Playing in the sand at St. Joe Beach

While the beaches of Cape San Blas and Indian Pass offer plenty of seclusion and
nature-based excursions, there are more beaches in Gulf County that are a little
livelier... and closer to the action.

West of Port St. Joe, just over the canal, is Highland View, a smal, quiet and unassuming fishing community. Under the bridge, next to the boat launch ramp, Captain's Cover Marina sits next to our world-famous fisheries whose shrimp boats twinkle at night

WindMark Beach is a place of respite and renewal, inspiring healthy living amidst the natural beauty of the county. With nearly 4 miles of outdoor trails along St. Joseph Bay, biking, running and walking are the preferred mode of transportation. WindMark Beach Village Center offers shopping, a state-of-the-art fitness center and bay-front dining serving fresh, local seafood. The amphitheater is the perfect spot for a concert or movie and the outdoor fire pit is the place to be with family and friends.

Laughing away on St. Joe Beach

St. Joe Beach and Beacon Hill offer miles of beautiful beach facing due west, providing spectacular sunsets and a silhouetted view of St. Joseph Peninsula. Nestled safely inside the Cape's protective barrier, the surf is low and gentle, a safe haven for swimmers of all. Public boardwalks and trails to the beach are peppered along the road. Veteran's Memorial Park in Beacon Hill offers plenty of safe parking and is known for its panoramic, elevated view overlooking the gulf.

Keep an eye on the clock because it changes suddenly without much fanfare. Beacon Hill borders Bay County where the local time zone switches to Central. So, if you are at the Lookout Lounge and need to find that hour you somehow lost, it's only a few steps away.

Gulf County Seafood

The waters of Gulf County are home to a thriving metropolis of fish and underwater wildlife. Generations of families have made their living harvesting fresh fish. Still today, our fisheries employ hundreds of commercial fishermen who distribute fresh Gulf County seafood worldwide.
